There have been 4 great moments in my life. The births of my 3 sons and not being able to sleep late last night and catching your story on Day of Discovery. I have had my faith in God for as long as I can remember. For the past 5 years I speak to him on a daily basis. But it has always been me, me, me. "I need you to help me with this, Show me how to get through that." Never any thank yous or acknowledgements on how He is guiding/teaching me. After seeing your story, I realized I am not the only person in the world to go through constant trials and tribulations (it's a humbling experience when we discover the world doesn't revolve around us!) We've had a similar road and I just wanted to say thank you SO much for showing me the path I have been searching for for what seems like the last 2 decades of my life. I know now what I need to do to say thank you and acknowledge that I am one of God's children. He was always talking to me - I just wasn't listening. —M.G.

My current work is in electrical engineering design for a consulting firm in Charlottesville VA, and I teach engineering courses (adjunct professor) when the University of Virginia need help in that department. Hello, I just wanted to let you know that this past Sundays program (August 1st) was life saving for me. Recently my life has been beset with loneliness and ongoing despair. I thought that GOD was punishing me for something I'd done...or didn’t do. I truly believed that HE had forgotten about me. After hearing about the story of Job on your program I realized that it was indeed the devil placing those thoughts in my head and heart. I just wanted you to know that it made a difference in understanding and accepting the difficulties. I realize that GOD does still love me. I've begun to pray daily again. Something that I had stopped doing because I began to feel that it didn’t matter...or that HE wasn’t listening. I can accept HIS will now. Thanks to you. I am struggling financially and therefore cannot support RBC Ministries as I use to. But I know that with the strength of our Lord Jesus Christ, I can get through it...and it will get better. We have so many resources in our educational system, but not as much love and appreciation for them. I am also a teacher and have spent time in Kazakhstan with the Peace Corps teaching in a Children's Home. I saw your DOD presentation on television. Our son was injured in Iraq and medically released from the Army almost 2 years ago and is going through a lot of physical and mental problems. He has just been able to get treatment through the VA and still waiting for his disability benefits so my wife and I are supporting him and his wife and 2 children. The DVD on Post traumatic stress syndrome and faith in Christ is so important to millions of former service people and their families especially for our Vietnam generation. Now I'm thinking of the Iraqi Gulf War veterans and Afghanistan war too. My father was a World War II U.S. Army veteran stationed in France and Germany as a cannonierre. Our family knew every day that Dad was permanently affected by the war and it greatly affected my life and still does. Fortunately for us Dad came to faith in Jesus Christ in the 1950's and left his alcohol habit or it could have been much worse for us as he was emotionally very disturbed by the warrior spirit, the maniac spirit that one learns in battle sleeping in tents in the open country under enemy attack constantly. Well, I could go on. One day when Christ returns we will truly be able to say "The war is over!" Halleluia. —James
I am blessed by God with your many fine programs that teach God's truth. I am particularly fond of the programs that take us to the Holy Land because I do not believe I will ever have the means to visit there in my lifetime...God willing I will. Today’s show on David helped answer a question I have been pondering. Our Sunday school class has been going through the book of Kings and it keeps mentioning "The Heart of David" Today's teacher talked about David being more concerned with God's reputation than his own safety. Jesus was also more concerned about God and our salvation than his own well being. He referred to the story of David and Goliath. David was convinced of God's involvement in the lives of men. Yesterday I said to myself I would love to hear about the heart of David from a Jew and today you provided that. See God is involved in your lives providing what his people need too. Thank you! The Dawning, Part I helps to get a closer view of how people lived in those ancient days. It makes me realize that those people also struggled with much of the issues we struggle with in our daily lives. I also realize how hopeful Christ's message must have been to the less fortunate of that society at that time. I discovered your DVD's at my sister's house and they are just what I was looking for to help me quench my thirst for information about Jesus and Christianity. We have been talking about how culture including our own has effected our attitudes and ideas about different people and people groups which may or may not be in line with what God thinks about them. This morning I woke up to Mr. Phipps singing songs my mom use to sing to us while she was cooking. My mom is older now and suffering form Alzheimer's/Dementia and she doesn't sing them anymore, so these songs are very dear to me. Some of them I remembered the words and some I did not. I was compelled and so uplifted by this week's show. The weather was so miserable here in northern PA that I knew I wouldn't be able to make it to Church. For many years now, your Day of Discovery programs have uplifted me spiritually, taught me about and shown me places I've never been...The Holy Lands, and tickled my funny bone. I always look forward to seeing you weekly. This program though took me by surprise to a place I didn't want to go again. I cried through much of it. Prayed. and just was amazed to still have so many feelings since the divorce in 1978. Of course the restraining order was granted in 1996. I have never heard other women tell my story like this. I have been so self-deprecating. This is a tough spot to be in. I would not be alive if it weren't for God's love and help. I have never been able to bring myself to remarry. I have loved the series "Following Jesus in a Land of Conflict." I am a student of the Word and this has enlightened my study. It helped to understand why the Jews were a "chosen" people - that God is not a respecter of people, but he gave to the Jews more responsibility to carry his message to the people of the world and that they have a greater responsibility to care for the people of the world. I have especially loved this series on the historical Jesus. I think it is very important that people can see the correlation between history and the Bible. I find that it is very difficult to witness to someone who doesn't believe the Bible is inerrant. Any way that we can prove through history that the events in the Bible actually happened is awesome. With all the skeptic-biased documentaries on TV these days that try to discredit Biblical truth (only by being historically or scientifically dishonest), it's great to see any academically founded counterarguments being presented on TV. People need to hear the other side, or they will think the skeptic view is the only one out there while the honest facts are being censored. My wife,Rosie, and I loved the presentation on George Washington Carver. Rosie is African-American and grew up in Mississippi where black history is extremely important to her family and to many blacks in the South. What she had heard prior to your telecast all focused on George Washington Carvers accomplishments in the scientific community but had little if nothing to say about his strong faith in Christ. Besides being a pastor I also help run a large YMCA. You can bet we'll be sharing this impactful DVD with our members and Rosie and I will be passing it on to our children.
